There is a Japanese phrase, *ichigo ichie*, which holds deep meaning in the tradition of the tea ceremony. It expresses the spirit of treasuring each encounter and moment as something unique, never to be repeated. Inspired by this concept, I imagined these strawberries as people, and gave the work its title accordingly. The rhinoceros beetle adores sweet fruit. Its fragrance drifts on the summer air, and the beetle is lured toward a ripe peach. To capture the fruit’s dewy freshness, I painted with pigments awash in water.
